High School students learn Design Thinking from SLC professor and recent grad 
Jen Probert, a recent graduate of the Community and Justice Services program, and I recently visited a Grade 12 class titled, "Impact" at Ernestown Secondary School to speak about Jen's involvement in the Mayor's Innovation Challenge last winter where she and her team, Team Co-Labs, won the Mayor's Innovation Challenge. Navratri Celebrations at SLC 
This October, Alumni and Development, along with Cornwall Student Union and Kingston Student Association, came together to joyfully celebrate Navratri on our Cornwall and Kingston campuses. It was heartwarming to see our enthusiastic students and alumni join us as we played Garba, accompanied by vibrant folk music and traditional snacks.
Embracing Innovation: Exciting Innovations at the Heart of Learning Experience
Innovation is a core value at SLC, and this semester, we pushed the boundaries of traditional classrooms to create an immersive experience for our esthetic students in their ESTH 11- Anatomy and Physiology class.  Drawing inspiration from Grant Bradley, Professor of the Fitness & Health Promotion Program, and with the support of Steve Janssens and his team at the Innovation Hub, we designed an unforgettable class. Our setup included VR stations and collaborative round tables, seamlessly integrating technology into our teaching approach. 
SLC Professor Launches Book on Broadway Legend in New York City 
Mark Bergin, a musician, writer and photographic artist as well as professor and coordinator of SLC’s Music and Digital Media program will be in New York City on November 13 to celebrate the publication of his definitive biography of Broadway legend, Nat Horne.  
Treaties Recognition Week, 2023
In 2016, Ontario passed the first legislation of its kind in Canada declaring the first full week of November as Treaties Recognition Week. This year, Treaties Recognition Week is November 5-11, 2023.  Treaties Recognition Week helps students and the public learn about treaties from diverse Indigenous perspectives and encourages greater understanding of the importance of treaties in Ontario.
