Tri-Campus Private Lactation Pods, an IMHS Environmental Objective

In reflection of the Integrated Mental Health Strategy (IMHS), and the workplan’s key objective of providing innovative, inclusive and accessible spaces, the taskforce and environmental subgroup are excited to announce the completion of a recent major project. Private lactation pods are now installed on all three SLC campuses, for individuals requiring a private space for breastfeeding and/or pumping. The pods are open and available for use as needed for lactating mothers within our SLC community.

The addition of the new pods contributes to the college’s commitment to provide supportive, safe, and physically inclusive learning and work environments, fostering a sense of Belonging and ensuring equitable access to campus life. Each pod is insulated for sound, with an interior locking door, comfortable chair and surface area, outlets, lighting, and ventilation.

The location of pods on each campus are outlined below with an illustrative campus map:

  • Kingston: Located on first floor, across from the washrooms outside of the Fitness Centre beyond the Upper Concourse
  • Brockville: Located on level two of Yellow Wing near the washrooms and stairwell
  • Cornwall: Located on first floor of Aultsville Hall outside of cafeteria near the Prayer and Reflection Space
