How SLC Applicants Can Meet the College’s English Proficiency Requirement

English is the official language of instruction at SLC.  

SLC students need to have a strong understanding and command of the English language to succeed in courses, understand lectures, participate in discussions, and complete assignments and exams successfully. 

As a part of the application process, international applicants and applicants with education credentials from outside of Canada must prove that they meet SLC’s English proficiency requirements.  

 Here are 4 ways SLC Applicants can meet the college’s English Proficiency Requirements:

St. Lawrence College recognizes English as the official language of instruction in several countries.

Applicants with credentials from the countries below showing at least 2 years of full-time, in-person study may be considered to have met the English Language Requirement.

Please note, applicants from these countries are still required to meet the academic English credit requirement for their program (i.e. ENG4U or ENG4C or equivalent)

*Depending on specific program requirements, applicants may be requested to provide additional proof of English proficiency at the discretion of the Admissions Coordinator

Submit academic transcripts and credentials (minimum of 2-years full time study, in-person) from one of the listed countries, where English is the official language of instruction:
