This is SLC: Our College News

June is a busy month at SLC!
June is gearing up to be a busy and exciting month at SLC and I wanted to update our community about some of the major events in our calendar, as a reminder and invitation to participate wherever and whenever possible. Convocation, National Indigenous History Month, Pride Month, and the 10th Anniversary of SLC's Community Integration through Cooperative Education program are several of the events we're celebrating this month.
Texture with Confidence Program wins Award
The Building Inclusive Community – The Beauty to Belong event brought together members of the Kingston community to discuss the importance of diversity and inclusion in Kingston. During the event a thought-provoking panel candidly shared their personal and professional experiences while discussing the over-arching theme of belonging.
Join the SLC Community in the 2023 Commuter Challenge
Commuter Challenge 2023 is here! This is a nation-wide event that promotes sustainable methods of transportation and challenges commuters (staff and students) to get to work or school more sustainably. This means choosing cycling, carpooling, transit, etc. over driving solo when possible. Over the years, the SLC community has excelled in participation, in km saved, and emissions saved, so let’s beat our records this year!
Learning Connections Conference 2023 Wrap Up and Feedback Survey
We would like to thank everyone for attending this year’s Learning Connections Conference (LCC) 2023 event that took place on May 16 and 17! Our learning community broke a lot of records this year with the highest number of participant registrations, speakers, concurrent sessions, and keynotes.

This initiative has resulted in the creation of a province-wide e-module for international students on “Understanding Gender-based Violence”.
