With a $20,000 grant from the TELUS Ottawa and Eastern Ontario Community Board, through the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, St. Lawrence College is expanding the Job Readiness Project, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology to prepare students for high-pressure front-line roles in social and mental health services. This initiative addresses workforce shortages and high attrition rates in the Kingston area, where new graduates face overwhelming challenges transitioning from classroom learning to real-world crises.  

St. Lawrence College’s School of Business now offers fully online introductory business courses, perfect for working professionals or anyone looking to build specific skills, or work toward formal credentials at a flexible, manageable pace. Take an online evening course this January and start achieving your 2025 goals. 

SLC’s Cornwall community made significant strides in restoring and protecting the campus shoreline this fall. Last October, first-year Environmental Technician students, the River Institute, and Watersheds Canada’s Natural Edge Team joined forces on a shoreline restoration on the Cornwall campus.

Whether you're an experienced researcher or simply curious, Applied Research 101 is your gateway to the dynamic research landscape at SLC!  Thanks to an exciting partnership with Mohawk College, this engaging and insightful course is now available to everyone at SLC interested in deepening their research knowledge. 

On November 15th, Aba Mortley, program coordinator, Esthetics, and Ekta Singh, program coordinator for Health Care Administration, had the privilege of representing St. Lawrence College and participating in the Black, Racialized, and Indigenous Student Career Fair hosted by the Boys and Girls Club Southeast Kingston. The event, organized by Grade 12 student Ayesha Bukhari in collaboration with the equity team at the Limestone District School Board, brought together inspiring leaders and advocates from the community, including Aba Mortley, Mona Rahman, Jason Morningstar, and Peng Seng Cau.
