SLC Celebrates Student-Athletes at Surge Awards
St. Lawrence College hosted its annual Surge Awards on Friday, March 27 at the Kingston campus, recognizing student-athletes across all varsity programs for their performance and contributions during the 2025-26 season. The night also featured special acknowledgement for student staff, provincial and national recognitions, team awards for varsity basketball, rugby, soccer, and volleyball, and was capped off by a series of major awards.
St. Lawrence College Musical Theatre Presents Spring Awakening
St. Lawrence College is pleased to present Spring Awakening, performed by second and third-year students in the Musical Theatre Performance (MTP) program. The show will run Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 12 at Gananoque’s Firehall Theatre. This production is directed and choreographed by Thomas Alderson.
Spring Awakening is a poignant coming-of-age rock musical, featuring music by Duncan Sheik with lyrics and book by Steven Sater. Inspired by Frank Wedekind’s 1891 play of the same name, the production is a captivating journey set against the backdrop of late 19th–century Germany.
SLC Unveils New Flexible Learning Classrooms
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to announce the expansion of learning options for students with the opening of two state-of-the-art flexible learning classrooms. Beginning in fall 2026, students will have access to new spaces at both the Kingston and Cornwall campus.
These purpose-built classrooms represent SLC's commitment to expanding programs and course delivery options to include online, hybrid, and accelerated program completion pathways based on student preferences, according to Glenn Vollebregt, SLC President and CEO.
President and CEO of St. Lawrence College Named New Chair of OREWIN
The Ontario Regional Economic & Workforce Innovation Network (OREWIN) is pleased to announce that Glenn Vollebregt, President and CEO of St. Lawrence College, has been named the organization’s new Chair. Glenn will lead the OREWIN coalition of small, northern, and rural colleges as they work together to Protect Ontario by strengthening the provincial workforce and economy.
SLC Launches New Electrical Techniques Certificate Program to Meet Growing Demand for Skilled Trades
St. Lawrence College is proud to announce the launch of its new Electrical Techniques program, a one-year Ontario College Certificate program beginning in September 2026 at its Kingston campus. This innovative program is designed to prepare graduates for careers in construction and electrical trades.
The Electrical Techniques program provides students with foundational knowledge of electrical functions within controlled electrical environments, equipping them with essential vocational skills to work under the supervision of qualified professionals.
