Ontario’s Small, Northern and Rural Colleges Join Forces to Advance  Ontario’s Role as Canada’s Economic Engine 
North Bay – April 8, 2025 – As Ontario faces the economic impacts of changing U.S.- Canada dynamics, 11 of the province’s small, northern and rural colleges are partnering to launch the Ontario Regional Economic Workforce and Innovation Network  (OREWIN). This coalition is focused on advancing regional solutions to protect Ontario,  its communities, its workers, and its industries. 
RBC Foundation Supports New Skilled Trades Program at SLC Cornwall
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to announce that RBC Foundation has made a $100,000 gift in support of SLC Skills Start, a new program designed to address the critical shortage of skilled tradespeople in the Cornwall area, that will be offered at no direct cost to participants. The program launched in February 2025 at the newly renovated Machine Shop in Cornwall and media are invited to a grand reopening to be held on April 14, 2025, event details below.  
St. Lawrence College Kingston Hosts Spring Open House, Saturday, April 12
St. Lawrence College (SLC) in Kingston invites prospective students and their supporters and guests to discover college life at its annual Spring Open House on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 9 a.m. to noon.  At Open House visitors can explore college facilities, connect with faculty and current students, and learn about programs, classroom, lab, and study spaces, services and resources, and how SLC ensures its students succeed. The college now boasts over 120,000 alumni in its sixty years of training skilled graduates and is proudly committed to putting students first.  
St. Lawrence College President and CEO Receives King Charles III Coronation Medal 
St. Lawrence College is thrilled to announce that Glenn Vollebregt, President and CEO, has been honoured with the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal.   Vollebregt was nominated for his dedication to SLC and contributions to the communities of Eastern Ontario by the Honorable Nolan Quinn, Minister of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security, and MPP, Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry.
