Top Marks for St. Lawrence College!

An education from St. Lawrence College prepares students for successful careers, with 87.9 per cent of most recent graduates finding work within six months of graduation, new Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data released today confirmed. This number is well ahead of the provincial rate of 83 per cent.

St. Lawrence College combines academic education with in-demand skills training, delivered by a faculty of experienced industry professionals, with 81.3 per cent of graduates satisfied with their college education.

“In today’s economy, the job market is competitive but individuals making the choice to earn a college education will experience far reaching benefits, including better employment prospects and higher earnings than individuals who do not have any post-secondary education,” said Chris Whitaker, President and CEO of St. Lawrence College. “We are committed to the success of our students, and the employment and satisfaction data of our graduates reflects this.”

The KPI data also found that 92.3 per cent of employers were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of the educational preparation of the St. Lawrence College graduates they hired.

Since 1998, the provincial KPIs have been gathered annually by two independent research firms for the colleges and for the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The most recent data were collected from March 2011 to February 2012.
