Trade Roots career fair begins tour through Eastern Ontario

Six career fairs travelling through six Eastern Ontario communities will showcase careers and educational opportunities in health care, technology, skilled trades, and more.

Trade Roots brings together local industries, businesses, educators, and employment services organizations to provide information about career and apprenticeship opportunities, and offer hands-on demonstrations of the skilled trades and other professions.

"More than 30 exhibitors will be at each event," said Charlie Mignault, Director of Business Development, Corporate Learning & Performance Improvement for St. Lawrence College. "The fairs will allow attendees to talk to working professionals, educators, and really get a taste for a particular career path that interests them. This is an exciting project, and we’re glad to be able to help connect people to meaningful employment and further education."

The events are scheduled throughout March with stops in:

Casselman, March 2
Smiths Falls March 8
Morrisburg, March 10
Kingston, March 19
Kemptville, March 22
Tyendinaga, March 24.

The Trade Roots program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy and hosted by St. Lawrence College.
