Essence Dining Room reopens with a new look, new menus

A feast for the senses, St. Lawrence College’s student-run restaurant will reopen January 31, 2011. It is a culinary delight to both restaurant goers and the students who benefit from the hands on learning environment the restaurant provides.

Infused with a passionate philosophy of "bringing learning to the table", Essence offers luxurious three to five course meals served twice a day at lunch and at dinner. Restaurant goers can enjoy dishes like stuffed and roasted quail along with an appetizer and dessert for as little as $9.95 for lunch. "It is a showcase of student success," says Don Young, Dean of Applied Science at St. Lawrence College. "Our students study the theory, practice the techniques and then get to share their skill and talent in a high-end dining environment."

Essence also has a new look, with a redesigned brand and tagline: "We bring learning to the table." The new look will elevate both the students’ and diner’s experience, explains Young. "The new branding reflects that Essence is both a place to enjoy gourmet food in an inviting, fine dining environment, while supporting our students in their hands-on learning experience."
