Disability and Diversity in our Community – a special presentation at SLC

St. Lawrence College, Brockville, welcomes Dr. Rod Michalko of the University of Toronto for a special presentation entitled, Disability and Diversity in our Community.

Join us Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 4 pm to 6:30 pm on the Brockville campus as Dr. Michalko discusses the presence of diversity and disability in our communities. Through an array of examples, including his own blindness, he will critically engage the question of diversity. A light dinner will be served and there is no cost for this event.

"We are very excited to have Dr. Michalko join us to share his perspective on how culture and disabilities teaches us about what it is like to be human," said Beverlie Dietze, Campus Dean, Brockville.

Dr. Michalko teaches disability studies at the U of T and is the author of numerous articles and three books. His current work examines how disability relates to versions of non-disability and normalcy.
