New Exhibition Features Innovative Works Exploring Nature

St. Lawrence College is pleased to present an exhibition of works by Teresa Mrozicka. Entitled, Her Well Being and Growth, the exhibition features 32 paintings focusing on nature and rural settings in bold primary colours and her own unique style. The exhibition will be on view from January 15 to February 16, 2010 at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery on the Brockville campus.

The works are a grouping of several series Teresa has created and exhibited separately over the last decade. The first is a series of 12 figurative and narrative paintings from a body of works entitled “Her Garden.” These works feature goddesses with fruit of the land as sacred representations. The next body of work is from two series entitled Forces of Nature and The Seasons. The last series, “In Germination”, focuses on the mystery of germination through portraits.

Originally from Poland, Teresa received her training in fine arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun and graphic arts at George Brown College in Toronto. Mastering a technique that she has developed over a period of years, Teresa creates semi-abstract vibrant work using bold primary colours in her own 'pointillism' style. Teresa's technique includes overlapping different coloured dots. The results are creations of unique style and texture. Her accomplishments include both solo and group exhibitions in Canada and Poland. Teresa now lives and paints in Eastern Ontario.
