Program Overview
St. Lawrence College presents an innovative English learning opportunity in Canada. Students gain access to high-quality curricula through on campus, in-person group tutorials, and an elearning platform. Daytime in-person classes and group tutorials offer a personalized approach, focusing on individual questions, self-study, homework, and skill practices. This program ensures an immersive learning environment tailored to students' specific needs.

On-Campus Program Features
- 12-week intensive learning focused on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, as well as academic study skills
- In-person classes (15 hours per week)
- Group tutorials (4 hours per week)
- Self-study (10+ hours per week on your own schedule)
PROGRAM STRUCTURE

- Build on your basic knowledge of English
- Learn key grammar
- Practice basic conversation
- Read to expand vocabulary and improve comprehension
- Write short paragraphs
Requirements to progress to the next level of study
- 60% on the final grade to progress to Intermediate
Note: the credential earned from this program is only one piece required for admission to academic programs. Students are still required to meet other admission requirements to enter the academic program. Different programs may have different requirements.
- Learn vocabulary related to daily life and academic subjects
- Enhance reading comprehension
- Improve writing skills to produce a 500-word essay
- Focus on speaking fluency
Requirements to progress to the next level of study
- 60% on the final grade to progress to Advanced
Note: the credential earned from this program is only one piece required for admission to academic programs. Students are still required to meet other admission requirements to enter the academic program. Different programs may have different requirements.
- Learn academic English with targeted vocabulary and study skills
- Read to comprehend complex academic subjects
- Improve writing skills to produce a 1000-word essay
- Practice speaking in conducting group discussions and making presentations
Requirements to progress to the next level of study
- To enter Certificate/Diploma programs at SLC: 70% on the final grade IEOC Advanced
- To enter Degree/Graduate Certificate/Program Pairs programs at SLC: 85% on the final grade IEOC Pathway Advanced

Planning To Apply To Integrated English On-Campus And An Academic Program At SLC At The Same Time?
Students may take IEOC to meet proof of English proficiency for an academic program at St. Lawrence College. In that case, students may apply for IEOC and an academic program at the same time to be eligible for a Conditional Letter of Acceptance.
Applications for IEOC and academic programs have to be submitted via the OCAS-IAS application platform. You can find our detailed application guide and access the OCAS platform to submit your application here.
Please note that students cannot take IEOC and an academic program simultaneously. You must complete the IEOC Advanced level to meet the English proficiency requirements of the academic program of your choice prior to starting your academic studies.
