Course

Final Portfolio / Brand Identity Design I

Objective

To create a brand for a fictitious brand. 
Using a mentor, revisit a past project  to redesign or extend the project.   

Description

Earthcraft Brewing Co. is a local brewery with focus is on sustainable practices. 
The symbol  is made of three shapes that represent nature and agriculture, with birds in flight, subtly nodding to the experiencing of enjoying a slight of beer. 
For the revisit project, the colours have been refreshed and introducing series of labels. These labels feature imagery characterized by a simple yet evocative abstract style, drawing inspiration from natural elements like hops trellises and solar panels. Each label maintains a cohesive look to ensure the brand is easily recognizable on the store shelf.

Objective

16-20 page layout design demonstrating mastery of typography techniques while incorporating images with type.

Description

A magazine on eco-fashion that uses bold design choices to tell the story. Illustration and photographs have been treated with a dynamic method to create a unique and compelling design that will have the viewer captivated.  While cohesive organization and hierarchy ensures that the content flows seamlessly.

Interaction Design IV  

Objective

App design using industry standards.

Description

EmoMe is a mobile application designed to empower older children and teens with autism to reclaim control over their emotions. Unlike neurotypical individuals, children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often face challenges in comprehending and expressing their emotions. EmoMe addresses this by providing a supportive platform that assists users in understanding the reasons behind their emotions. The app allows users to log their mood, as well as offers strategies for managing emotions & navigating social situations, which in return, restores a sense of emotional balance.

Objective

Using design research to create a design solution to a problem that SLC students face.

Description

To increase participation in the composting program, a pull up banner was created to guide students on waste sorting. Additional posters and infographics were designed to create a broader awareness. Using clever messaging and vibrant colours to attract attention and distinguish amongst the large variety of posters found throughout the campus.
