Paige McIntyre

Designer Bio

My name is Paige McIntyre. I am a dedicated and driven graphic designer from Almonte, Ontario. I have always had a creative mindset and passion for visual storytelling, which I have turned into a valuable skill set during my time at St. Lawrence College.

Every project has a story, which is what I strive to portray through my work. When I approach a project, I follow a process to determine the values, needs, and goals of every project, and I always consider how I can best represent the client or project. Crafting uniquely tailored design solutions is something I deeply value. My design specialties include interaction design, brand identity design, and design research. I am also interested in pursuing photography and have recently discovered my love of illustration.

My passion is creating designs that not only reflect the essence of the project but represent its story in a visually compelling manner. For me, design is not only about creating visuals; it’s about combining elegance and communicating a message, resulting in designs that resonate.

Typography IV

Objective

The objective of the Environmental Conference Campaign project was to create a design policy to represent the assigned conference title. This design policy was then applied across 3 project phases: a poster, a website, and a programme booklet.

Description

For my future of freshwater resources conference, the title was “Flowing Forward”.  The design policy created used a teal and blue colour palette, as well as water-themed illustrations. The policy was then applied across all three phases, reusing illustrations and colours to create a cohesive and professional package for this fictional conference.

Interaction Design II

Objective

The interactive museum exhibit project included creating an app with a unique interactive element to represent an exhibit at a museum. The main goal with this project was to create a new and exciting way for museumgoers to experience exhibits.

Description

My selected museum exhibit was the Community Coral (crocheted coral) exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre. The interactive elements in the app included a camera screen where users could scan the crochet coral to see the real-life version and read some facts about it. A search feature that showcased a variety of coral species and information about them was also included. A section for kids was included as well, with a mini-game and a fun fact quiz.

Brand Identity Design II

Objective

This rebrand project included choosing an existing non-profit organization and entirely redesigning their brand. The next phases of this project include creating different applications of the logo, colours, and values, which would be practical for the organization chosen.

Description

For this project, I chose an organization local to my hometown of Almonte. Lanark County Interval House is an organization focused on helping women who have survived domestic violence. Their values include strength, femininity, trust, and safety. For the logo redesign I created a phoenix logo that uses strong but feminine colours and represents new beginnings. The applications were chosen to represent how the new branding would be used. The clothing applications were for both staff and clients, and were created with comfort in mind. The social media was created for both an educational approach and community outreach initiatives.

Brand Identity Design I & Interaction Design II

Objective

The objective of this project that spanned across two courses was to create an e-commerce focused brand identity, and a responsive website for the brand’s e-commerce activities. The website was designed to apply the brand identity and remain consistent with the brand voice and values.

Description

The created brand was called Crow’s Call. This brand sold crystals, candles, tarot supplies, aromatherapy, and jewellery. Their values focused on magic, beauty, and mystery. The crow in the logo was chosen because of the habits of a crow, and the association of crows with mystery (and the brand name). This brand’s magical, mysterious tone was created to speak to their target audience, and to create a unique look in the target market.
