Designer Bio

As a new designer, I have a few goals set for myself in the next few years of my career. One of these is to progress my knowledge in photography. I would love to learn more about the equipment, as well as different strategies for posing, editing, etc. I would also love to further my knowledge in Photoshop, and learn all of the tools, layers, and brushes that are available to use.

We all have our own unique strengths and weaknesses. Some of my strengths are photography, logo design, and web design. I have had an interest in photography for over 10 years, and it has been a growing hobby of mine.

Now that I have finished school, something I would like to explore in my next steps is stationery design. I would also like to learn more about designing for other fun things such as gift wrap, fabric, etc.

Brand Identity Design I

Objective

The objective of this project was to create a logo to go with an e-commerce website we created for a project in another class.

Description

The company I chose to create for this project was a baking supply company called Route 40 Baking Co. Because of the name, I created a logo that included the route marker sign shape, as well as a baking rolling pin. I chose to use black and blue for the logo because it created a very simple, modern, and clean look. Which was fitting for a baking supply company who has those brand values.

Brand Identity Design I

Objective

The goal of this project was to take the company we had randomly been assigned, and create a completely new brand identity. Once the design was completed, we created a set of stationery items using the new brand identity.

Description

I was given the company Fable, a dinnerware company that focuses on artisan housewares for hosting and gifting. The existing logo was not breaking any major rules, but it needed to fit better with the company brand identity and values. In order to do this, I took a look at the company and their website, to define their values and brand identity. I discovered that their products and branding felt luxurious, which was not reflected in the simple logo. Because of this, I created a simple but elegant icon to represent the values of the company. I paired it with a deep, rich green that also demonstrates the luxurious, quality feeling of the company.

Interaction Design III

Objective

The objective of this project was to create an app for a museum exhibit of our choosing, including some sort of learning aspect like a quiz or game.

Description

For my project, I chose to create an app with different types of games to teach museum visitors about sea creatures and their lives. I chose to go with whales for my main theme, and to use a scavenger hunt style game for my learning aspect. The game has different questions about whales to encourage visitors to search around and complete tasks to earn points. This way they would be looking at the exhibit, and reading the facts and information in order to find the correct answers.
