SLC Welcomes Interim Vice President, Student Affairs

Michael Cooke

St. Lawrence College (SLC) welcomes Michael Cooke, who joins the College as Interim Vice President, Student Affairs starting immediately through to August 2021. This interim role will provide the Student Affairs team with leadership and support while SLC conducts an executive search to fill the position on a permanent basis.

Michael brings more than 35 years of educational leadership experience to SLC; his roles have included Acting President, Vice President Academic, and Vice President Advancement at George Brown College in Toronto, as well as interim Vice President Academic and Chief Learning Office at Loyalist College in Belleville.

While Michael has formally retired, he continues to pursue his passion for education and student success through his consulting business, sharing his expertise and leadership serving Ontario colleges requiring interim support.

As a lifelong learner, Michael also brings to this role many educational accomplishments including a PhD, Theory and Policy in Higher Education (University of Toronto), Maîtrise ès Lettres (Université de Toulouse, France), Licence ès Lettres (Université de Toulouse, France), Bachelor of Education (University of Toronto), Bachelor of Arts (University of Windsor).
