Kingston student tests positive for COVID-19
St. Lawrence College received news that a second student in a program running on the Kingston campus has tested positive for COVID-19. This case is believed to be unrelated to the first, however it is under investigation by Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Public Health.
In order to respect the privacy and maintain confidentiality of our student’s medical information, the College can only confirm they were on our campus on November 12 and sought a COVID-19 test because they felt ill. The College has taken recommended precautions and extensive cleaning of spaces where the student may have been were conducted.
Following established protocols, SLC continues to work closely with the KFL&A Public Health. Not everyone who was on campus last week needs to fear they have been exposed to the virus. Individuals who were in close contact with the affected person and are deemed at risk are being notified by KFL&A Public Health directly.
