St. Lawrence College Graduates Nominated for Provincial Awards

St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to introduce this year’s nominees for Colleges Ontario’s annual Premier’s Awards. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to society from graduates of Ontario colleges. Winners will be announced, and awards will be presented at a gala held in Toronto on November 25, 2024.  

The Premier's Awards, hosted by Colleges Ontario, celebrate the achievements of Ontario college graduates in the province and throughout the world and recognize graduates in the following seven categories: Skilled Trades, Business, Community Services, Creative Arts and Design, Health Sciences, Recent Graduate, and Science, Technology, and Engineering. 

"Each year, we face the challenging task of selecting only seven outstanding alumni for these nominations," said Elizabeth Gorman, SLC's Director of Development and Alumni Relations. "The talent and accomplishments of our alumni make it a privilege to celebrate the impact of Ontario college graduates."

"Our graduates are truly remarkable, and we are aware of the positive impact they have in the world," said Glenn Vollebregt, SLC President and CEO. "The excellence of our programs is clear when we see this outstanding group of nominees, and the Premier’s Awards provide an opportunity to highlight their contributions in their respective fields."

The nominees from SLC are:  

-Business: Vanessa Eaton, (Business – Advertising and Public Relations, 1994)
-Community Services: Jordan Belisle (Bachelor of Applied Arts Behavioural Psychology 2013)
-Creative Arts and Design: Tim Porter (Music Theatre – Performance, 2007)
-Health Sciences: Joshua Lobo (Paramedic, 2011)
-Recent Graduate: Ariane Morin (Welding and Fabrication Technician, 2023)
-Science, Technology, and Engineering: Cedric Pepelea (Energy Systems Engineering Technology, 2016) 
-Skilled Trades: Leanne Rhem (Carpentry Techniques, 2023)
