St. Lawrence and Fleming College Integration

SLC and Fleming College have agreed to integrate as equals and have begun the process to build an even stronger institution with broader access to education and training across both regions. 

This is an exciting opportunity to improve outcomes for students by bringing together the strengths of both colleges. The integration will increase access to education and training, expand opportunities for students, and improve alignment with regional labour market needs. 

Students will continue their studies as planned, and there will be no immediate changes to local brands, programs, campuses, services, or supports. The intention is to create even more opportunities for students. 

Academic programming will be reviewed carefully, and any future decisions will focus on expanding opportunity and helping students succeed. 

No campus closures or consolidations are planned as part of this announcement, and both colleges look forward to continuing to serve students and communities across their current campuses. 

We expect due diligence to be completed within the month and the remaining work to continue through the year, with the new integrated college effective on or before April 1, 2027. 

For current students, the answer is simple: 

• Attend your classes. 

• Follow your program requirements. 

• Meet registration and payment deadlines. 

• Use student services as needed. 

• Stay updated via your College email. 

• Keep your contact information up to date. 

The College is committed to keeping people updated about the progress of the integration. Updates will be shared directly with anyone impacted if there are new steps or changes to current students’ experiences. 

St. Lawrence College and Fleming College are planning to come together as one college. The planned legal integration date is April 1, 2027. Students will continue their studies as normal while planning for the integration continues. 

The goal is to build a stronger institution that continues to provide high-quality education, student support, and access to learning opportunities across the regions currently served by both colleges. 

No action is required. Continue attending classes, meeting deadlines, using college services, and following your program requirements as usual. 

Yes, you can finish the program you’re currently enrolled in. Supporting students in completing their studies is a core priority of the integration. Students should continue following the requirements of their current program. 

There are no broad changes being planned for current students at this time. If any future changes affect a specific program, students in that program will receive direct communication. 

Yes. Students can continue progressing through their programs and if successful in meeting program requirements, will graduate. 

Yes. Students should continue their studies normally and follow their academic plans. 

Yes. The colleges have stated that academic quality, academic standards, and credential integrity remain priorities throughout the integration process. 

There is a regular, annual process for setting tuition and fees that is unrelated to the integration. Information about the process can be found on your college’s website.

Students should continue to apply for and manage OSAP and other financial assistance as they normally would. 

Students should continue applying for scholarships, bursaries, and awards through the current processes unless otherwise advised by the College. 

Yes. Students should continue accessing services through their normal St. Lawrence College or Fleming College channels.
