Event Overview

Did you know that audiences across the globe now have access to, and watch more foreign language films than ever before? While Hollywood dominated the box office domestically and overseas throughout the 20th century, the turn of the millennium saw the industry embrace films and filmmakers worldwide. From English-language remakes of foreign movies to the recruitment of cast and crew from abroad in tandem with increased access to content via the internet and multitude of streaming services, film fans can now readily enjoy cinematic offerings from Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and Oceania. Hollywood (America), Bollywood (India) and Nollywood (Nigeria) are home to three biggest film industries while China is the world’s biggest box office market. 

To celebrate this rich and diverse cinematic landscape, we will be screening: 

3 Idiots – a 2009 Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama. Two friends revisit their college days and recall the memories of their friend who inspired them to think differently, even as the rest of the world called them "idiots".
