Event Overview

Join us on October 13-14th at St. Lawrence College (Kingston) for a BioBlitz to collect baseline ecological data and to inform the Biodiversity Assessment and Sustainable Land Management Plan (SLMP). A BioBlitz is a communal and community-fueled effort to record as many species as possible within a designated location and over a specific period of time.There are two ways to participate:1. Record species observations anytime on Oct 13-14th on your own*; or2. Join our ecologists and landscape architects as they conduct surveys on campus, making plant and wildlife observations*.2:00-5:00 PM Outdoor Activity Search and record species - Daytime Drop in anytime from 2-5 PM on the hour to join experts during the day to make plant and wildlife observations with around campus grounds. Meeting location on the hour: [main entrance]5:30-6:30 PM Indoor Activity Identify species Identification with experts at the base camp (indoors), to have a closer look at specimens collected over the day and learn about the identification process. Meeting location: Innovation Hub6:30-8:30 PM Outdoor Activity Search and record species - Evening Meeting location: [main entrance] at 6:30 PM Join experts in the evening to look for nocturnal and evening-dwelling wildlife species around the campus grounds
