Veterinary Technology students, Bridget Cox and Mackenzie Davidson, and her dog, Tootsie, paid a visit to a kindergarten class at Centennial Public School in Kingston to demonstrate and discuss basic veterinary care.

The children had the opportunity to listen to Tootsie’s heart with a stethoscope and give her treats. Bridget and Mackenzie discussed how to treat sick animals, vaccines for pets, and the importance of regular vet checkups.

“It was a wonderful experience, and the kids were so intrigued and could relate to a lot of what we spoke about since many of the kids had their own pets at home,” Mackenzie said.

“Bridget and Mackenzie did an amazing job, and the students were thoroughly engaged. Their presentation was age appropriate, fun, and very interesting,” said Shelley Farndon, who teaches Kindergarten at Centennial Public School.
