SLC Kingston Students Paint the Town with Kindness for "Do Something Nice" Day

On Thursday, October 5, students of the Business Human Resources program met at St. Larry’s Pub on the Kingston Campus to paint Kindness Rocks in celebration of National Do Something Nice Day. The colourfully painted rocks are meant to spread joy and kindness throughout the community while representing the HR program at SLC.

Professor Wendy Whitehead said that the day’s excellent turnout was a strong reflection of the power of student voices and the many ways that the School of Business can give back to our communities.

“A value of SLC is belonging, and in the School of Business we try to prioritize the connections between business strategies and the work of our students," Wendy said. "Today, the students are actively engaged in collaboration and mentoring students of all stages in their learning journey. This is a great representation of the incredible diversity in our student population that fosters the sense of community that we have in the School of Business.”

Sara, a third-year student in the program, shared that the event was a great way to help students learn how to communicate with new people. “As an HR person you’ll meet a lot of new people, and not everyone is social, so this is a great way to learn how to meet people and make connections, and not just through your common interests.”
