SLC is proud to sponsor the eighth annual Climate Change Symposium by Sustainable Kingston. The event will take place on Monday, January 20 at the Kingston Grand Theatre (and via livestream) from 1pm -5 pm.
This year’s theme, Rooted in Action: Empowering Youth to Grow a Sustainable Future, brings together young Kingstonians, students, environmental activists, experts, and community leaders in a collective conversation about youth-led climate action. Hosted by CBC’s Ali Hassan, the event will include a keynote on Indigenous Rights and Water Activism by Autumn Peltier, and a presentation on Climate Strike Action Canada by Lilah Williamson.
Purchase your in-person tickets for $10 or register for the virtual event for free on the event page.
Kingston students can enter a draw to win free tickets on URSLC.
The Sustainability team would also like to remind the SLC community about the upcoming Climate Leadership Program application deadline on January 19. All students and employees are invited to apply here and enter to be selected to pitch your idea on January 22. The top three pitches will receive funding toward project delivery, and support from the SLC Sustainability team, Enactus, and local community to implement.
