Krista Stephenson is the latest recipient of the Innovation Spotlight!
For embracing possibility in how she approaches the digital management of corporate content for SLC, which has resulted in exciting evolutions to how some channels are optimized. She leverages available technology to improve how content is displayed on the digital screens for each campus, bringing improved insights and information to the campus community audience, and making more frequent updates possible - improving engagement, the amount of information that can be conveyed, and the number of college departments represented. For being relatively new to SLC (she has worked here for five months), she applies her understanding of SLC values (putting students first in particular) for the "why" of how she works, and her collaboration, dedication, and creativity were key elements to the successful launch of SpacesShared (homesharing app) in Kingston. Taking existing channels and doing "more with the same" and in many cases, refreshing or updating content to ensure it doesn't become aged, is helping represent important topics to the SLC community with clarity and a service mindset. The energy and improvements that come from someone who works from a lens of possibility versus a lens of "it's always been done this way" are motivating for team members, and invigorating for the content we support, and the audiences who view it.
Krista is a great example of Innovation in action. She is willing to try to find solutions or experiment and do so in an open and inclusive manner. If you know of a colleague who demonstrates the value of Innovation, please nominate them for recognition. Click here for nomination form.
