On November 27th, third year BScN students in the Mental Health Challenges course gave guided tours of their group projects that are on display in the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery as part of the current exhibit, May You Be Well. Also on display are drawings and paintings by students in the Fine Arts program.
The impetus for this exhibit that was given to these two very different groups of students in the context of their studies, was to explore the affect of social media on mental wellbeing, good or bad. The results include Selfie Self-Portraits that explore the power of photography to capture and share a personal moment and a variety of projects that engage with current cultural practices or "conversations" around mental wellness.
Through prompts and QR codes, you are invited to engage with the works in this exhibit by sharing a reflection, completing a survey, contributing to a word cloud, playing with toys, following a guided meditation, walking the labyrinth, or hugging the Hug-A-Bag.
May You Be Well is on view until December 12th, in the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery, Brockville campus.
