Last week, our HR Management programs at St. Lawrence College students had the unique opportunity to participate in a mock mass casualty exercise at Kingston Health Sciences Centre. As simulated casualties of a train derailment, our health and safety students presented at the hospital, providing an experiential learning experience like no other.

This invaluable experience allowed our students to:

◾ Understand the key elements of emergency preparedness
◾ Observe the execution of a comprehensive emergency plan
◾ Understand the critical role an HR professional may play in emergency planning and response
◾ Witness the incredible dedication and skill of our healthcare workers in action

A huge thank you to Kingston Health Sciences Centre for including us in this critical exercise. Your partnership in providing such hands-on learning experiences is essential in preparing our students for real-world challenges.
