Duties

The incumbent is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and review of outcomes-based curriculum for a variety of programs/credentials offered at St. Lawrence College. This will require the incumbent to work with a number of internal/external stakeholders on a wide variety of curriculum initiatives. They will also provide a number of services such as providing one-on-one consultations, facilitating curriculum mapping processes, training employees in using electronic course management system, and conducting literature reviews for externally funded projects.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Minimum 4 year degree in a related field of study such as Adult Education, Curriculum/Instructional Design, or Education with relevant experience in curriculum-related initiatives and faculty development. An equivalent combination of education and work experience at a post-secondary level may be considered.

Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressive experience on curriculum development initiatives or quality assurance processes within a post-secondary educational environment. More specifically, the incumbent should have experience in the following areas:
• Working with a variety of internal/external stakeholders including faculty, administration, community employers, and the general public. 
• Supporting larger curriculum development or renewal initiatives.
• Conducting quality assurance reviews of existing courses, projects, or programs.
• Using educational technology to support teaching/learning initiatives.
• Working within a quality assurance framework or process.
Must also have demonstrated experience in researching current trends within higher education and maintaining awareness on contemporary design practices in curriculum development.

Other Required Qualifications:
• Ability to support SMEs/Faculty in their curriculum development tasks (e.g., creating learning outcomes, course descriptions, selecting resources, identifying assessments, rubrics, etc).
• Ability to work with subject-matter-experts, faculty, and college administration to update curriculum documents (e.g., outlines, learning plans, and program maps) as part of regular quality assurance processes (e.g., Program Quality Assurance Management System). 
• Ability to recommend improvements to curriculum related policies and procedures based on current and evolving requirements identified by the college, Ministry, Credential Validation Services (CVS), and the College Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP).
• Ability to review newly created hybrid and online courses using a predetermined process and/or quality assurance rubric (e.g., Quality Matters Rubric).
• Ability to train employees on the electronic curriculum data management system and assists with data entry tasks to facilitate system implementation.
• Previous data entry experience considered an asset and acts as one of the system administrators for the electronic curriculum data management system and assists with data entry tasks to facilitate system implementation.
• Skill to complete a series of data integrity reviews on the curriculum data management system to ensure proper functionality during semester start-up.
• Experience with supporting faculty in designing experiential learning initiatives within program curriculum.
• Ability to guide the curriculum mapping process for a variety of college programs and credential levels through facilitated meetings with program stakeholders.
• Must ensure that program teams participating in curriculum mapping adhere to all regulations set forth by the Ministry’s Framework for Programs of Instruction, Ontario College Quality Assurance Service, and St. Lawrence College policies and procedures for academic programs.
• Responsible for providing feedback to program teams to ensure that the curriculum mapping process includes adequate reflection on program review recommendation, assessment mapping, digital literacy, and experiential learning.
• Ability to provide frequent progress reports on curriculum mapping to academic managers and direct supervisor.
• Skill in designing and delivering curriculum/quality assurance related workshops, seminars, or other professional development opportunities for the college community.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
Normal office environment – Remote work. Must be able to work from a remote location.

Salary and Terms

Support Group: Pay Band “i”
Hours per week: 40
Start Rate: $30.57 + 6% vacation pay
Range: $30.57 – $33.39
Start Date: Immediately
End Date: 6-Month term contract
