This course is designed to expand the student's understanding of public relations within the marketing mix. Public relations is an increasingly important communications function in both the business and non-profit sectors of our economy. The course will focus on communications assessment and planning, media relations, issues management, PR documents and events, and integration with other marketing activities. Students will analyse the media coverage of an organization and develop a communications plan to improve its public relations. In addition, presentations, cases, and a test will be used to evaluate the student's understanding of public relations.
