In this course students will develop a variety of professional skills in order to prepare them for the workplace and enable them to better meet the needs of their placement site.  Students review the work experience (placement) choices and will be asked to state their preferences based on an assessment of their own learning needs and abilities. Students will complete self-assessments in order to build a functional scientific resume. Students must demonstrate that they are eligible for work placement by completing all of the required organizational criteria both for the college and for specific to their chosen placement site including such things as necessary immunizations, additional site-specific training (e.g. WHMIS) and in some cases Criminal Background Checks (CBCs).

There are 30 hours assigned outside of the regular lab times for independent experimental maintenance and data collection.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of all semester 1-4 courses
