GENE 65

This course will allow for the development of receptive and expressive language skills, vocabulary, finger spelling, counting, gestures and grammatical structure of ASL (American Sign Language). It will also include: a history of ASL in North America; an introduction to the various languages and forms of manual communication; an overview of Deaf culture; political issues which arise for this community; and government policies within the Canadian framework will be examined.
