DEVE 102

This course introduces the student to the field of developmental services, starting by examining how attitudes and services have changed over the last 200 years. Current philosophies that should guide the role of a Developmental Services Worker will be examined, as well as how these can be applied in recreational, educational, residential and vocational settings. The concept of "quality of life" is introduced, with the intention that this concept will become one of the more important forces that will shape the students' future attitudes and behaviours.
