CPEN 3000

In CPEN3000 students learn what they need to know about parts of speech in order to understand what makes a sentence and how to build a good one. Students then explore how sentences are combined to form paragraphs. To demonstrate their grasp of sentence and paragraph structure, students write paragraphs on suggested topics or topics of their own choosing.
Students also read short pieces of published writing and comment on what the authors are saying and how they’re saying it.
With the instructor(s), students discuss their experiences of reading and writing. Students express concerns, receive suggestions, and use this feedback to improve their communication skills.
