(Winter only)
The science of chemistry deals with matter and its changes. Physics is the study of matter and energy. This course will introduce the student to the science of physics. It will start with the basic units of measurement (length, mass and time) and step by step develop the most common derived units. The students will be given the opportunity to practice their mathematical skills and develop problem solving skills. The topics are introduced in a logical order that presents concepts of increasing complexity. Since students will be building their skills as they proceed throughout the course they will be able to cope with the material. Physics affects all phases of everyday life and knowledge of this science will be give one a clearer perspective of the environment and the world. (4 hrs. per week)
Prerequisite: MATH103 or equivalent.
