ADMN 1126

(3 credits)
This course introduces the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and ethical considerations in the preparation of Financial Statements. Students will learn the process of accounting for a corporation by completing a variety of practical exercises including a simulated business activity. In addition to learning the procedural aspects of accounting, emphasis is placed on the interpretation of accounting information for decision-making purposes.

The theory introduced in the course will be complemented by a variety of real world examples, using both annual reports and selected financial statements from Canadian and US manufacturing and service companies to illustrate the concept presented in class.
