St. Lawrence College students bring home the hardware

St. Lawrence College (SLC) is proud to announce the accomplishments of its Esthetician and Hairstyling students at the Ontario Technological Skills Competition in Toronto on May 7, 2018. Esthetician students Alexandra Fox and Nicole Wright finished with gold and silver medals respectively, marking the tenth year in a row that the SLC students have won in this category.

Hairstyling Apprentice student Laura Garcia-Cervantes won a Bronze medal, and while they did not place, Culinary and Millwright students did extremely well in a tough competition.

Alexandra and Nicole competed at the Toronto Congress Centre and competed in the following services: Advanced facial, Manicure with nail art, Pedicure and Fantasy make up with Russia as this year’s theme.

“I am so thankful that St Lawrence College gave me this amazing opportunity and experience to participate in the Skills Ontario Competition. I feel more than ready to start my career having graduated from this amazing program that is so thorough, up to date and includes medical esthetics as well,” Alexandra said.

The next step for Alexandra will be to compete in the National Skills Competition in Edmonton, AB from June 4-5, 2018.
