Kingston Business Students host the first-ever "un-conference" about the hottest trends in Digital Marketing


Kingston, ON, November 29, 2011 – At St. Lawrence College on December 7, third year Integrated Marketing Communication students will launch the first student run “un-conference", TrendsTalk. The St. Lawrence College students will be presenting seminars with a focus on mobile marketing, social media marketing, and interactive web marketing.

TrendsTalk opens opportunities for both the students presenting and everyone attending the event. Students will showcase their talents, and provide insight as to what is happening in the digital world, and how we can embrace it. “I believe that TrendsTalk will be an amazing opportunity for the entire IMC Class," said third year IMC student Robin Geran. "Public speaking is no longer a worry for most and it allows us to pick a topic we care about to present to our peers and the public.”

"TrendsTalk has given me a chance to showcase some of the skills I have obtained while studying at St. Lawrence College, and I am thrilled to add being a part of the event to my resume,” said third year IMC student and TrendsTalk coordinator, Shanika Dopwell.

This free event runs from 8:45am to 1:30 pm, and you decide which seminars you want to take part in with no registration required. Modeled on the highly successful PodCamps, this "unconference" gives you a chance to participate in sessions that are most compelling and relevant to you and your work.

A variety of door prizes have been provided by the many event sponsors. Twist Image donated five copies of Six Pixels of Separation, a custom web development package from Brockville Media, hats from Casale Media Inc., and brain balls from Sysmos. A monetary donation was also donated by CommConnex.
