Two new fast-track programs will prepare laid-off workers for the job market

St. Lawrence College has launched two new fast-track Business programs designed to get students ready for the job market in as little as 16 weeks. The programs, a diploma in Business and certificate in Office Administration, will start taking students this May.

The Business program, available on the Brockville campus offers the complete diploma curriculum providing students with the opportunity to build a strong core of business foundation skills in key business areas such as accounting, marketing and human resources. Students starting in May will be job-ready by January 2010.

The Office Administration – General certificate program offered in Kingston, teaches critical job skills for today’s office environment such as website creation and/or maintenance, producing flyers and newsletters, word processing, database management, and more.

"St. Lawrence College is responding to a need for flexibility to meet the requirements of the adult learner population," said Lorraine Carter, Vice-President, Academic, St. Lawrence College.
"With the increasing demand for retraining opportunities, these programs are designed to provide job-ready skills to get people back to work quickly."

Our grads get jobs. More than 90 percent of St. Lawrence College graduates found work within six months of graduating. (April 2008)
