Overview

Alpha International Academy connects international students seeking a quality post-secondary education with one of the leading colleges in Ontario. The Academy is affiliated  with St. Lawrence College, who provides oversight over all curriculum, faculty, and operational quality for college-level programs delivered at Alpha’s Toronto campus. Students can apply through Alpha at: http://slc-alpha.ca/apply-online and are considered enrolled at St. Lawrence College once admitted. Graduates receive a St. Lawrence College diploma or graduate certificate, depending on their course of study.

The Health Care Administration program is a business program that will provide health care practitioners with business and leadership fundamentals. The program is geared toward students who have previous education and work experience in health care who wish to develop their managerial and leaderships skills. The curriculum is geared toward providing a wide base of business skills in a health care context such as financial, communication, human resources, leadership, operations, and critical thinking. Graduates of the program would be suited for careers in entry or middle management positions in a wide variety of health care settings such as clinics, hospitals, and private facilities. The program is delivered in a hybrid fashion with classes scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays, supported with on-line learning between scheduled classes. Courses will be delivered one at a time and should take about 12 months to complete the entire program.

Admission Requirements

Two or three-year college diploma or university degree.

Applicants must submit transcripts verifying previous academic qualifications and experience from recognized institutions. All documentation must be submitted in English.

Applicants must be fluent enough in English to understand the instructors and technical language used during each course. An acceptable score on an English proficiency test is required to be considered for admission:

TOEFL – A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test
IELTS – Required score of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each section
CAEL – Overall score of 60 is required for admission
