Business Marketing

Overview

The two-year Business - Marketing program prepares you for success in the dynamic world of marketing.

The first year provides a solid grounding in the fundamentals of business administration and the second year introduces you to major areas of the marketing discipline including Quantitative Methods, Marketing Research, Sales, Integrated Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing and Social Media Platforms. You also build skills in Economics and Ven­ture Development. In addition, all students must complete courses in communications for marketers, careers and professional development as well as a 3-week full-time marketing internship.

Together, they offer a tremendous oppor­tunity to consolidate your learning and gain valuable practical experience in an industry or market of your choice.

The Marketing programs at St. Lawrence are recognized leaders in Ontario. St. Lawrence students have excelled at the Ontario Col­leges Marketing Competition over the last 22 years. More recently, ENACTUS SLC has garnered local, regional and national awards in a field of over 50 Canadian colleges and universities.

Students succeed, in large measure, because they are exposed to numerous opportunities and pathways to achieve success. All marketing faculty members are current in their fields and have significant employ­ment experience in marketing. In fact, a num­ber of faculty have national and international experience, and undertake marketing and management consulting projects on a regular basis.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with the majority of Grade 11 and 12 courses at the C, U or M level including the following prerequisites:

Additional Information

Programs at St. Lawrence College are delivered using a variety of instruction modes. Courses may be offered in the classroom or lab, entirely online, or in a hybrid mode which combines classroom sessions with online learning activities. Program delivery can be run weekdays, weekends or evenings. Upon registration, each full-time student is provided a St. Lawrence College email account which is used to communicate important information about program or course events.

Students starting in January must take the second semester during the spring/summer in order to be on track for the third semester in the fall.

Advanced Standing

High school students with a minimum grade of 75% in Grade 12 M level accounting (BAT4M) are eligible to receive advanced standing in St. Lawrence College Introductory Accounting, ACCT 1. Once you have been accepted into your college program, contact your program coordinator for details.
