Student Success Facilitators

Available on our three campuses, Student Success Facilitators provide support and re­sources to help you adjust to college life and achieve your academic and personal goals. They can connect you to college resources, provide learning and study strategies and assist you with obtaining a Peer Tutor for complex courses.

Counselling Services

While the college experience can be exciting, Counselling Services understands that it can also be stressful. If you find yourself overwhelmed with academic, personal, or financial concerns, our counsellors are here to assist you. Confidential personal counsel­ling is available to all St. Lawrence College students. Our primary goals are to support students during difficult times, and the pro­motion of student wellness.

AccessAbility Services

Educational support services are available for students with physical, learning, and mental health disabilities. Students are encouraged to contact Counselling and AccessAbility Services for information and/or a confidential intake interview as soon as possible. Our services provide access and support to eligible students who require academic accommodations, adaptive technology, learning strategies, referrals, information about bursaries for students with disabilities, tuition subsidies, and more.

Peer Tutoring

Peer Tutoring may be of benefit to students who are experiencing difficulty in a course. Peer Tutors provide practice and review of course material to help students enhance their understanding of the course content. Peer Tutoring is available for courses in most programs and is subject to tutor availability. Peer Tutoring is free for eligible students.

Math and Writing Centre

If you want to improve/enhance your writing, math, or science skills, we are here to help. The Math and Writing Centre is a free service available for one-on-one or group tutoring sessions, on a drop-in basis or by appointment. The friendly and knowledgeable facilitators assist students with a variety of different topics such as the mechanics of writing, math-related problem solving techniques, and much more.

The St. Lawrence College Test Centres provide tri-campus support for most testing needs. We provide a wide range of services to students in need of accommodations, admission assessments, resolved sched­uling conflicts, missed tests, and external examinations.

First Generation Services

If your parents or guardians did not attend college, university or an apprenticeship program, you are a First Generation student (siblings may have attended or be at­tending). Often there are unique needs and challenges that First Generation students face during their transition to college. Our First Generation Team understands the unique needs and challenges you may face, and the demands of each program. Our team provides College transition, academ­ic and social support, as well as financial guidance for First Generation students, and will connect you to other College support services. Aboriginal Services

Our Eagle Learning Café on both Kingston and Cornwall campus is a friendly space where Aboriginal students can go for re­laxation, cultural connections, socialization, and study. Our Aboriginal Advisor will assist students on all three campuses with any Aboriginal, transition, or College concerns, including information and support regarding financial aid opportunities. Libraries

The three campus libraries provide exten­sive online and print materials, information services and study/work space. Experienced staff are available in each library to help you find the information you need to complete your assignments or to explore other re­search interests.

Career Services

Our career centre offers students and alumni a variety of online resources to ensure they are career ready. Some of our online tools include:

Job Board – Our job board has hun­dreds of opportunities in Eastern Ontario, amongst other areas, and is updated daily. Students and alumni can filter their results or create a job posting alert to have the latest job opportunities sent directly to their email.

Career Coach - Career Coach is designed to help prospective and current students find a successful career pathway by providing the most current local data on wages, employment, job postings, and associated education and training.

Interview Stream – Interview Stream in an online tool that assists students prepare for job-interviews by creating a no-pressure environment to practice and review their skills using a webcam and microphone.
