Park at St. Lawrence College and travel to the ceremony by Kingston Transit for FREE. Please see the bottom of this page for detailed maps.

Conveniently, St. Lawrence College has once again partnered with Kingston Transit this year to provide complimentary round-trip bus passes for all guests attending convocation. Graduates simply need to bring their student cards which will be used as their bus pass.

Due to extensive construction and the high volume of attendees for this event, there may not be sufficient parking in downtown Kingston to accommodate all graduates and guests who will attend Convocation. We encourage everyone to park and ride to the ceremonies.

How to park and ride:

  • Graduates, guests, and staff will park at the College at no charge.
  • Please check in at the “Bus to Convocation” sign located near the bus lane at the front doors of the College.
  • Convocation representatives will provide guests a round-trip bus pass and advise of upcoming buses to the Rogers K-Rock Centre. Students will use their student card as their pass.
  • Wait at the designated bus route area in order to catch bus downtown.
  • Arrive at designated stop downtown.
  • Walk down the street, approximately 3 to 5 blocks, to the front doors of the Rogers K-Rock Centre. A map will be provided to you at the College for your convenience.
  • After the ceremony, use your student card or bus pass to ride back to St. Lawrence College from the same location you were dropped off. The map that will be provided to you that day will have specific instructions of where to catch the bus and when.

When should I arrive at the College?

  • Graduates – Please ensure to arrive at the College at least 1.5 hours prior to the start of your ceremony. This is necessary to allow time to ride downtown and check in backstage. You are required to arrive at the Rogers K-Rock Centre one hour prior to the start of your ceremony.
  • Guests – Please allow approximately 25 minutes to travel from the College to the Rogers K-Rock Centre. The doors to the Convocation ceremony will open 75 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony. Seating is done on a first come, first served basis. However, given the large scale of the venue, we have always been able to find seating for everyone.

Need Accessible Parking?

Accessible parking is available at the College and will also be available in City lots downtown and on-street parking spaces. There will be numerous marked accessible parking spots in the Frontenac Lot which is adjacent to the Rogers K-Rock Centre.  More detailed information about the downtown accessible parking space options can be found by visiting the City’s parking website.  Daytime rates will be in effect and both coin and credit card are accepted. All on-street parking and surface lot parking is free after 5:30 p.m.

What if I want to stay downtown after the ceremony?

No problem! Kingston Transit has buses running as late as 11:25pm from downtown to St. Lawrence College. The map you receive when you board the bus at St. Lawrence College on convocation day will list the departure times from downtown back to St. Lawrence College.
